That Media Thing has a vacancy for a savvy social media professional to join our content team’s expanding operations. Our priority is to recruit the right fit for our creative culture, with the title of Social Media Executive or Social Media Manager attached to the successful candidate based on the experience and abilities that they bring to the role.

This is a full-time position to be based at That Media Thing’s head office in Bath, UK. Salary dependent on role recruited.

As Social Media Executive/Manager, you’ll be working across a range of projects for major global brands, as well as support the marketing requirements for That Media Thing itself. You will also be actively involved with editorial and project planning meetings, and be expected to bring great ideas to the table, including how projects can be brought to life creatively.

Above all we’re looking for someone who will relish creative challenges, thrive in a wide and varied role, and will not take themselves too seriously.


  • Manage scheduled creation and delivery of outstanding social media content for global brands across all the major platforms

  • Support the Editorial Director in delivering upon project content strategies with adherence to clients’ brand tone and style

  • Work with the lead Designer attached to each client in outputting compelling social media assets

  • Use in-house digital tools as well as other methods to conduct social listening with a view to informing content strategies

  • Monitor and moderate audience activity across platforms, responding where appropriate and escalating where necessary

  • Keep up to date with news of platform changes, innovative social media thinking and content best practices, sharing useful information with the wider team

  • Support the production of client performance reports, interpreting social media analytics in order to make recommendations


  • Previous experience of working in a similar social media capacity essential

  • Have strong core skills and tactical knowledge of deploying social media campaigns

  • Proven experience and success in growing active social media communities will be an advantage

  • Be highly curious about the new and innovative ways that existing, as well as up-and-coming social media platforms, can be leveraged to create high quality audience engagement

  • Be bold enough to experiment and have the tenacity to learn from occasional failures

  • Have a good eye for identifying and capturing intriguing imagery that could be considered for asset use

  • Have strong interpersonal skills nurturing good, honest, internal as well as external communications

  • Have strong organisational skills including effective and realistic time-management

  • Be able to take direction from and support more senior staff in the delivery of big projects

  • Be highly motivated, self-confident, flexible and nimble

  • Have a desire to learn and continuously develop own skills and knowledge within core social media and analytics disciplines

  • Experience of using social media management tools, such as Hootsuite or Buffer will be an advantage

  • Knowledge of working with Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics will be an advantage

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Asana will also be an advantage
